But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,

 a holy nation, a people for his own possession, 

that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 

(1 Peter 2: 9-10 )

When you wonder where your life is going, 

remember this simple picture. 

With the light shining on you and around you, 

you know you are not consigned to walk in darkness 

like so many. 

You may not know exactly where you are going, 

but you see the wrong and you can avoid it; 

you see your Savior, 

and his grace and power go with you; 

..and in the distance you see 

the light of eternal life shining at the end of your path.
